The Therapist

After having worked with communication and writing for around two decades, I was inspired to follow another long term passion of mine. Psychosynthesis had recently been brought to Norway by “Arif”, Per Jarle Dyrud (1950 – 2023). Based on psychodynamic and humanistic psychology and being called “the psychology of the soul”, it was a new and interesting approach to the study of the human psyche. So, I got my basic training as a therapist at the Norwegian institute for psychosynthesis (NIP) in the years 2000 – 2003. Since 2005 I have had my own part time private practice as a therapist. In 2007 I came across Somatic Experiencing, a body-oriented therapy for the treatment of trauma. I became a Certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) in Denmark in 2010. When the Somatic Experiencing Institute was established in Norway a few years later, I assisted on some of the courses and began giving private sessions to the students.

Other modalities I integrate in my work are Stress- and Trauma Releasing exercises (TRE), fascial exercises, Somatic Attachment therapy, creative expressions, breathwork, the Enneagram and Mindfulness.

In recent years, I have also worked with organisational mental and social health issues. It has given me the opportunity to meet with both leaders and employees in a variety of companies and organisations. I have worked with topics like crisis- and stress management, conflicts, secondary traumatization, organisational changes, psychological safety, mindfulness and nonviolent communication.
